Invitation to the 7th European Deaf Arts and Culture Festival
The 7th European Deaf Arts and Culture Festival (5-12 August 2012) will be held in Tallinn, Estonia. We are looking for performances in any genre, including theatre plays, poetry, comedy, dance, and visual art. We prefer performances with a positive image of Deafness (not discrimination against Deaf people), e.g. different aspects of Deaf culture and history. The performance can also be based on literature and should be 20-45 minutes long. We suggest that you perform in International Sign, so that the content would be understandable for everyone.
The DVDs and applications should be sent by 6 February 2012. Those who send them by 6 February do not have to pay the registration fee. After that until 6 March the registration fee (with DVD attached) is going to be 50 EUR and registration (with DVD attached) until 6 April the fee is going to be 100 EUR. The participation fee 10 EUR per person can be paid after we have selected the plays.

The Estonian Association of the Deaf is looking forward to receiving your DVDs!
We would like to organise an art exhibition at the festival. Should you know a Deaf artist, please provide us with his/her name and contacts.
About the costs: the organiser supports accommodation and meals (7 breakfasts & 1 warm meal on 5 days) for five people in the troupe and gala dinner for one person (group leader). Travel costs to Estonia shall be borne by the participants (plane, train, bus, car). More information will be given to the selected participants.
NB! The 7th European Deaf Arts and Culture Festival (5-12 August 2012) will be held in Tallinn, Estonia. The Estonian Association of the Deaf is looking forward to receiving your DVDs, but do not book your flight or accommodation before 22 February 2012. We will receive the official decision about funding the festival by 22 February and we will let you know of this.
